...by coincidence I've just started a Roman naval project, which I'll piggyback onto this thread.

Later, I'm going to make these look a bit more Roman, by adding steering oars, and hopefully a few converted crewmen.

Simon, nice to see you here again!  :) these boats are looking good, where are they come from?

Hi Prof,

Sorry I've been away; I'll try to post more regularly.

I found the pirate ships on this site, in the rowing boat section!  I used the sea-pup.

They were very cheap, free postage, and a fine casting.

Cheers, Simon

I know, you was busy painting your countless legions and phalanxes. And your wonderful Celts, of course, too  ;)

Thanks for the link, some very useful stuff there.

Eric those welsh are very nice indeed but the idea for this boat is a armed crew as if it was a patrol or advancing scouts on enemy territory.
I will make a review of my armed fiures and post it.

Rumacara

I propose them as standing rowers for some light river boat

Hello all

I did understood Eric but the boat is to be stationned on a harbour or something else.
Nevertheless those welsh might give some ideas for more gangers.

Thanks

Very inspirational. And you can see some nice cargo ships in the second video!

I´m interested in them. Just a quick question:

Did they sell you just the forward part of the craft or did you just discard the rear of six boats?

Regards.

I had to saw them all in two!  It only took a couple of minutes for each boat, as they are a plasticky-resin.  I have 8 sterns in a bag in the loft, awaiting inspiration.
