Medieval communal tent.
« on: March 07, 2014, 11:19:29 AM »
Just completed this medieval tent - for my later 15th Century stuff - based on ones seen in illustrations and re-enactment events. These larger tents were used for food preparation, eating and storage.
Have crammed a load of stuff in, to try and make it look authentic. The canvas cover is removable and there's more info and pics on my blog.

Cheers,
Simon.

Brilliant Simon. What a great idea, and wonderfully executed, as always.

That is awesome! The Bill leaning up outside really makes it for me, I guess because at a medieval reenactment I recall the communal tent had one leaning up outside like that! Love the hanging clothes as well!

Very nice, lots of lovely detail. Really like the supporting stay running from the main post. What did you use for the stay? As it looks, unlike most miniature ropes and cables, to actually be under tension

Superbly done, the detailing is astonishing (that jug on the right - it's a real one you zapped with a miniaturising ray right?).

Stealing that idea  :-*

Fantastic - the little details make this so alive!
Measure with a micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with an axe, hammer to fit, paint to match!
