Fireteam Andromeda in Redemption City
« on: March 08, 2014, 08:19:33 PM »
James and I played my first ever game of Fireteam Andromeda today. You can read about it on my first ever blog post here (lots of firsts today): http://crapidfire.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/fireteam-andromeda-in-redemption-city.html

It's a really good game and includes some of the best elements of other popular rules systems. It also has a very robust "make your own army" builder which is good fun in itself.

Thanks Bacon. I think I've added a followers box now but Blogger is far from intuitive.

10/10, would move into.  :D

looks like a great table, and i like that you've included things like galleries and other specialist buildings rather than just gone for the non nondescript prefabs that populate alot of sci fi tables (including mine)

Thats one really sweet table!

I like the thought that has gone into it with the buildings: void of any features, a turf roof etc, all serious considerations for future housing/roads, simple and efficient!

Fireteam andromeda has been in my sights for some time now. Sooner or later I might just need to buy it.  :)

Love your table, simple in places but it very much oozes modern architecture.

That is one hell of a table.  :-*

Looking forward to hearing more about FT Andromeda....

So tell me a little about the system. IGUGO or something else? Range of fire vs. ability to move? Anything like that.

Thanks everyone.

I hope to have a review/overview in the next couple of days.

Bill, the Leadership value of your commanders determines how many units you can activate consecutively. Play alternates between players like that unit each has run out of command points (used to activate units) and then a new turn starts. Command points are generated by the number of confident regular units deployed. As such, you can cripple your opponent with damage and suppression.

The command and control system is really good fun. Hopefully my overview will help anyone considering the rules.

I've now finished my overview of Fireteam Andromeda and it can be found here: http://crapidfire.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/fireteam-andromeda-review.html

Mods, do I need to add this to the Rules Reference Thread?

Cheers

Excellent review! Really appreciate the time you took to put it all down so clearly.
