15mm BEF platoon for chain of command.
« on: March 10, 2014, 12:37:58 PM »
I've been rather fixated with Fantasy for the past few years but Chain of Command has got my historical mojo going again. I decided to go for 15mm not so much for cost as the 1:1 in game ground scale 15mm provides. I just got the feeling it would look awesome.

I've started making and collecting terrain and have painted up a platoon of BEF. Fairly simple PJs, base, shade, tiny bit of highlight. At this scale I'm quite pleased how they look.

Here's some photos, a bit bunched to fit them all in but I can see how the scale is going to work really well.

That's all the photos which is all yo9ur interested in right?

There is a little more rambling on over on the blog if interested:

Nice work. 15mm appealed for the scale reason, but I just couldn't leave 28mm models.

To answer the question on your blog, yes you should more of your histroical stuff on there!

Thanks.

Looking very good, even though I am a 28mm addict myself!

Very nice! I'll be doing Chain of Command in 15mm as well, like yourself I have a BEF force as well as an early war German one and I'm just starting on an early war Waffen SS one :)

Very nice.

I am also playing Chain of Command early war. BEF, French and German.
But we chose to play it 10mm.
It is very convenient as we can play on a larger scale (tables seem much longer).
I also have to say that my painting skill is not so good and it prevents  my opponent from dropping dead, with bleeding eyes, when I put my BEF figs on the table.

I have all of these brand new FoW 15mm's and just got CoC on sale!  Seems like a perfect match.  I bought the Piper box set and realized for CoC, I have a TON of minis!  Happily TFL also make Company level rules :D

I shall follow your project with great interest!

I have only been reading through the rules, but the feedback has been that some feel the rules fit 15's better.  For myself, since I have the FoW stuff already, it's no real loss to try.  Have you played in 28s?

I am still waiting for a Greek list so I can play chain of command in 28mm.
But I do have a Greek list for Bolt action for my 28mm army
Next I will paint up my 15mm Greeks  for Bolt action.

Not yet. Been working on luring the Bolt Action players into a game :-)
