Boar Miniatures
« on: 13 March 2014, 03:19:14 PM »
I'm looking for a set of standard boars. Not 'dire', not 'giant', not 'wyrd' or 'mutated'. Just some simple plain old boars for 28mm gaming.

The ones in the back right of this photo are perfect:

Anyone have a good idea of a source?

Gripping Beast piggies here:

Games Workshop do big fat (plastic) boars in their Warhammer Orcs and Goblins range too.

Well, those in the pic look like old GW boar boyz boars. They're long OOP, I suspect, but ebay might prove useful.

Foundry do some too: http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/our-ranges/general-purpose-animals-carts-and-baggage/woodland-animals-collection-bcgpr009/

Hope that helps!

Do these look like the citadel boars or are the from another line?

Regardless, they may suit my needs. Thanks for the tips on looking for orc boars!

For realistic boars, even with a bit of ruffness, I'd say Foundry might be best.

Jo Brumby is a great sculptor, but he just can't do legs.  :?
