Thats a lovevly looking model. :) I'd rather paint it myself though.

Good grief, have they sold off their newly-acquired silverware already?  :o :P

Being Forgeworld would it not have cost a pretty penny unpainted to start with?

It's the smaller version called "dwarf airship", released in 2002 and apparently sold out in August 2007. Here's an archive page showing it. Used to be "only" £18-£20. Then there's a bunch of extra bits and conversion work, of course.

£105 for a GD-ranking model... Kind of reasonable if you're the kind of buyer who appreciates official FW models, GD paintjobs and overall GW atmosphere. I wouldn't sell my most time-consuming conversions for much less. There's quite likely dozens of hours of work put there. Doesn't give you any spectacular wage, does it?

Oh well, I prefer doing my own hobby projects to buying them finished. Others have more money than free time (or skill) so let them spend it. Everyone ends up happy.

I must also say that the photography isn't quite on the level a GD finalist would deserve. The painter was lucky to get that good a price.

Some of them are apparently living in the US too.

It will be interesting to see where this one ends up.

Hey Rudi!

Yes, I think it would be viable to be a painter and converter as a profession selling on ebay, but only if you lived in a cheap country! My plan (unrealistic plan that is) is to move to Equador and get the latest GW stuff shipped out to me, paint it and sell it on. THe living costs would be low enough that you could do it I think.
