The Western Front is always a temptation, given that I already have WW1/RCW stuff in 28mm, but I've resisted so far.
Following your Vimy project might be what pushes me over the edge... and you've got CanCon as an added bonus...
I was at Vimy in 2000 for a day, during one of my backpacking trips around Europe. It was a very powerful experience. One neat thing is that because I was under 25 at the time, nobody would rent me a car so I wound up using the local bus system to get out to Vimy. The bus dropped me off on the eastern (German) side of the Ridge and I walked up, then walked down the Allied/western side of the ridge to the next bus stop along the way. Walking up and down Vimy Ridge makes you realize how important even that slight rise of land (it's not a big ridge) was tactically and what a challenge it was for the Allies to attack up it.
I still have the 85th anniversary pin the Canadian students who run the memorial gave to me; I should dig it out.
