Lovely little flair, that corpse in the gangster scene. Very LPL.

Love both.  I know we are supposed to be voting for the best painted figures but I love the the blood stains on the wall behind the victim.

I would like to own both groups.  The Gangsters, however, show excellent cloth painting.  Soft colors with good shading.  Both groups tell a nice story.
I am interested in land warfare throughout history and beyond, except the Seven Years War, in Europe.

I'd say that is not correct. The rules only stipulates the following about casting a vote:

Quote
LAF members may vote for either of the two teams. Each user has a single vote.

You may base your vote on highly personal preferences, you do not have to justify your vote to anyone (not even yourself, I suppose).

I need a blushing emoticon! Thanks Mike!  :)

XCIV--Are those figures from Space 1889? I really dig the alien landscape!

The figures themselves are actually Empress Miniatures very excellent Zulu War range. I love them so much that I bought them to replace figures I already had painted and finished. They are lovely bits of metal.

And yes, the setting is a Victorian Science Fiction one, not strictly Space 1889, but quite similar. I do a LOT of VSF stuff. You can expect to see more later on in the competition (though no more British infantry).

Well, GemGames, you trounced me. Ouch.  :o

Your team was well painted, though, so at least I don't feel like I was beaten by photography skills or something like that. I do wish my picture had a bit better focus on the patrol jacketed officer, but fair cop to you. Congrats!
