Mage Knight Castle stuff question
« on: 30 March 2014, 12:53:49 PM »
Hi guys; hoping for a little help.

I like the look of some of the OOP MK Castle stuff. The blurb suggests they have dials built in - are they hidden (as I hope) or are they obvious?

If anyone has pictures of the dial placement that would be great, thanks.

They are very inconspicuous. That is why the Castle product is so popular and difficult to get IMHO. Being a HUGE Mage Knight fan I have a lot of it and will try to take a picture or two of the dial placement for you.

Thanks Warlord Frod, that would be great. It is really just sight of the dial placement that I need. :)

Well here are the pictures I hope this helps. First the wall

Each section has a dial set in the top edge and the dial slot is on the inside castle wall so looking from the front you see nothing The horizontal slot below is where the walk attaches to the wall

All structures - Towers, Keep, and Gate house have the dial on the roof. The ball in the center is what you use to turn it. Again I don't think this is very obvious.

Good luck in finding some of this and expect to pay a good price if you want walls without a door in them. Even I would love to get some more of those.

Yes, they made the mistake of manufacturing all five parts (Gatehouse, Keep, Round Tower, pack of 3 Walls with no door, pack of 1 wall with a door + joinery bits) in equal proportions and it made the walls very hard and expensive to find. Like Frod, I was lucky enough to have bought a big lot some years back.

Probably one of the best premade scenery sets ever made.

It's the tower that I find hard to get.  The keeps are pretty easy to come by.  I would have liked it if they sold the entire castle as a kit.  Too bad they are OOP.  They are great pieces.
This is my boomstick!

The round tower is probably second-hardest to get after the wall pack #1, yep.
