D-Day Project for Salute - A Build Diary
« on: 02 April 2014, 09:46:53 AM »
With less then two weeks to go we are under the cosh to get our Salute game ready, particularly as I only ordered the figures in Monday!

We are keeping a blog of progress which will tell you a little bit about the game and show our progress.  The first report which outlines the game and how we took the concept and translated that into a plan is here:

http://toofatlardies.co.uk/blog/?p=2559

The second report showing the first stage of the build programme is here:

More tomorrow.  I hope some of you find it of interest.

Rich

Looking good, Rich. My first game of CoC tonight, hoping to convert some others with the visuals.
Cheers,

Very nice. I was interested to see how you use the maps to plan the scenery, so thank you for posting this.

This looks like terrific fun, I enjoyed the build pics, it's always satisfying to see blue foam and then the transition as it gets painted.  I take my hat off to you for having the nerve to build all this with two weeks to go.  My maxim with Salute demos has always been 'take something that you had in progress a year before'.  For our Battle of Keren game I had a maquette built 14 months before the show, the real terrain done at Xmas for trial games, and I'm still fiddling around with finishing touches...
Best of luck! :)

Rich,

Cheers for posting.  A really good steer on how to use foam for modeling.

We're now on to Day Four with painting the Para platoon.  Not too photogenic today, but a few snaps here:

I'll be getting some nicer snaps of the figures once the village starts coming together and we have the roads and walls completed.
