Richard is a fine and upstanding collector, painter, and photographer of his wonderful collection of miniatures - who I take a certain joy in chortling now that he's tainted his collection of 15s with larger cousins!  Of course, he's not a spry youth like me so he might have some modest justification for such shenanigans.   

I have his blog linked on mine - one of the nicest collections on the planet and nary once put on a table for a game at last check.  Will his daughter be going to those flea markets he frequents one day making many a gamer apoplectic when they see his collections for sale?  If so, let us hope it is many, many years into the future from now. 

Or maybe there will be a grandson who'll be in little boy heaven with gramps toys.  That would be better.  How say you, Richard?

He is all those things and more. He may have abandoned 15mm for their larger cousins as his recent work has been 28mm pirates and a 28mm Egypt project. I will post a preview of his 28mm Egypt project tomorrow on my blog.

I confess to be jealous of his swap meet finds.

Gentlemen, you are both very kind.  FifteensAway, you will be happy to know that I have not lost my love for the smaller figures and a rather large French and Indian War project using Blue Moon's 15mm/18mm figures is on my calendar.  My figures are still virgins… no games have they played.  As to the passing of the years and my hopes for them, I look forward to completing more than a few more gallery collections in both 15mm and 28mm and to having a great many more wonderful days at the swap meet.  And as someone much wiser than myself once said, tomorrow isn't promised to any of us... so a little hope ain't all that bad.  Thank you again.  Richard aka War in 15mm.

Re the French and Indian War collection - very cool, Richard.  My goal for this year is to complete entire my French and Indian War figures (though only a smattering of Blue Moon's figures since I've had this going since long before they made their appearance).  I'm above 800 painted and everything is already primed.  Adding lots of trees as well.  Cannot do the period without trees, lots and lots of trees!  The real chore is the rebasing of figures but I already have almost all of the bases primed and ready.  (I use sheet metal bases and always paint both sides of the bases - reduces the 'snag' effect and doesn't leave bare metal showing if a stand is turned on its side during a game, though little need of that since I have plenty of casualty figures to go along with everything else).

FifteensAway, the French and Indian War is probably a root cause of my love of miniatures.  When I was about 8 years old, which is to say a long time ago, I loved the movie The Last of the Mohicans with Randolph Scott.  I wanted that movie to be translated into toys so with that in mind I wrote a letter to Marx Toys asking them to make a FIW set and describing in detail what it should include.  Even then I loved civilian figures so I wanted lots of Indian villagers and frontier farm families.  As you might guess, I receive no reply, but my desired for those figures has remained ever present over these many years; all that has changed is the fact that when doing things historical and military, I like to work with 15mm/18mm figures.   It was not until I saw what Blue Moon had done with their 15mm/18mm that I knew I had what I wanted.  I look forward to seeing your collection when it is finished.  Richard

Robert, thank you for showcasing my projects.  Let me take this opportunity to say that I hope people viewing my Egyptian project on your blog will take special note of the Kobblestone Middle Eastern buildings.  Whatever one may think of my paint work on those buildings, the buildings themselves are beautiful, and I recommend them to anyone looking for really quality buildings for a Middle Eastern layout.  Also Bill, the owner of Kobblestone Miniatures, is a great guy to work with.  Thanks again for the attention.  Richard
