Aztec Priest figures?
« on: April 07, 2014, 02:55:54 PM »
Who makes a figure to represent the neo-Aztec priests in HVF?

Would Gringo40's Mayan figures work? http://www.gringo40s.com/mayan.html

Something like http://www.amazon.com/Tomker-Models-Priest-Military-Miniature/dp/images/B008ZG90SO or http://www.michtoy.com/item-MRNC-ZK-AZT033-Aztec_Priest_with_Heart___Unpainted_Kit.html or https://www.michtoy.com/item-MRN-AZT037-Priest_Stabbing.html perhaps?  Well, not at 60 mm and $$$!

Ideas?

Gracias,

Glenn

What about the Salute 2012 figure...?

http://slwarlords.blogspot.co.uk/2012/02/salute-2012-figure-painted.html

Would that work?

As long as it isn't too big (I use a lot of 25 mm figures with some 28 mm) or too expensive (Yes, I know it is only 1 or 2 (possibly 3??) of them for a party 99% of the time but I do have a budget!) it would work.

Glenn

Glen Are you working in 25-28MM? I seem to remember you saying you were going to 15mm. Regardless I put my google fu to work on my Lunch break.

Just three that might help.

I am going to 15 mm but I have partially complete Tarzan related (like 6 variants,) A Mexican Rebel set, and Zorro related (either on with a single Zorro Force Company or thee variant Zorro Companies) in 25 mm I do want to finish.  I probably will need an opponent force or pit these against each other... I think until I am golden in 15 mm I should keep a few 25+ mm teams...

Glenn

Those are nice.

I hope I can find someone local to play opposition else I might have to build an African Explorer or Federale team for players.

I used the Outpost one (AZS1 in the above link) for my Aztec-themed VSF Mexicans. I also used the rest of the pack as an optional vignette base for him - I think it all (just!) fit on a 50mm round base. They're nice figures, and size well with the Perry and early Foundry figures that make up the rest of the army.

I have one at home going spare. I will try to find him tonight and let you know how large he is. I seem to recall he was quite tall

We truly have a cornucopia of figures we did not have any realistic hope of seeing in the 1970s.

Very true, the Grongo Moctezuma would make a nice character too

I thought about this a lot after counseling (unrelated to miniatures  lol thankfully)  last night and I decided that rather than build "expected" opponents (more Companies -  :o - in the larger format!) for my current 25+ mm Companies I should just finish what I have and if I don't find players to field their own Companies then I can just provide all sides and play Rebels, Zorro, and/or Tarzan companies and get creative for scenario ideas as to why they are fighting each other.

Thanks for the great ideas for miniature though.  I will leave this thread unlocked/undeleted incase someone else has a similar question in the near future.

Gracias,

Glenn
