This was my lucky day, my new CS partner brought a friend to introduce him to the game (Yessss my preciouss we will corrupt them all!)
I decided to test a scenario that I plan to put in my sourcebook.
Basicaly the ROAF must escort a light transport plane loaded with silver across the table. However, 2 different pirate/militias/businessmen heard about it and want to hijack the plane.
Basically, the ROAF (me) controlls the transport unless someone tails it, fire at it, etc...
Opening move, the escort goes for the nearest hostiles.
If my flight leader Roland "Black Adder" Hirch would have add more than 3 Dead Eye, that could have do some damage (we roll our pilots stats from a table)
Here, our first time player realized that he probably made a mistake with his Bandit
The transport tries to get away but the Peacemaker catches it up and will force him to move as he wants. The Bandit get hit by a MG that with reach its tank in 2 turns.
The escort close in to push the Peacemaker away
The winning move from our first time player, he did not fire on the Blizzard and got control of the transport.
The end of the turn with a lot of flak in the air (I had forgotten my counters, so we improvised)
I tried a desperate move with my Kestrel that had a MG slowly burning toward its tank, failed my push roll and ended up hiting a building
But it survived! (the wing is hanging by 1 wingspar box!)
The Devastator for the rival group tries a las attempt to stop the Peacemaker
But it gets away with the transport (1 turn before a MG burn reaches its tank)
All in all a nice game and a lot of fun.
I did not realized the danger the transport was in until it was too late.
Although there was some unlucky rolls for the new player, he at least managed to pass his personnal moral check and win the game!
We then started a quick 2 vs 1 shoothemup.
And the new player encountered a Firebrand for the first time
And lost his Raven to it
and we had to stop.
Again, the Firebrand made an impression on another player. This plane with the pilot that flies it has the potential to become the kill machine of the campaign!
