Non-human undeads?
« on: 21 April 2014, 11:17:19 AM »
I just came across these: http://otherworldminiatures.co.uk/shop/undead/ud4a-demi-human-zombies-i-3/

Does anyone know of other not-human fantasy/medieval zombies (and/or other undeads) out there, please?

I am adapting Pike & Shot and Zombies to a warhamsteresque setting, so zombiefied elves, dwarfs, orcs, goblins, halflings, ogres.... etc... would be nice to mix and match with my - mainly mantic - shamblers, of which I expect to have about 30 ready for the first game before autumn (it's SO boring to assemble those 3 sets of torsos and legs, so I take LOTS of breaks from them).

Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

There were some GW skellies that I think from a regiment or renown. There was an Orc, a dwarf and a high elf if I remember correctly.

Probably not that much use and I would imagine rather expensive now that they are out of production  :?

cheers

That's right, 'The Cursed Company', lots of fun.

Beat me to it.

Also planning to add goblin, elf, dwarf (and human) zombies to the range later this year (well, the dwarfs may have to wait till next year).

You could look at Alternative Armies' Flintloque/Slaughterloo Undead - for instance zombified toads...!

http://www.alternative-armies.com/55520_777th_Croaked_Line.htm

They also have undead dwarves, orcs, ogres etc

I've bee eyeing those, but they're too 'black powder' for this specific purpose. I'll be adding a few of the Witchland packs to my Chaos in Carpathia project, though... undead cossacks and the likes are just too obvious to ignore  :D

Splendid! I'll have to completely ditch my attempts to keep a decent buy/painting ratio (already having ordered 3 sets from Fireforge, it was all down the drains, anyway). Your 'Landsknecht' style is exactly what I need for Warhammer: Apocalypse Z!!

That's right, 'The Cursed Company', lots of fun.

Those are probably a bit out of my league, price-wise, although they would be fun to include.

Thanks, crew! Always a pleasure to see everyone's suggestions!  :)

GW also produce 3 "Dead Marshes" spirits, which include a rotting elf and an undead orc, they used to be in the Lord of the Rings range, I don't know if they were transferred into fine-cast though..

[edit] I found a link to the "dead marsh spectres"

I doubt that they're what you are looking for though:

The WotC D&D/Chainmail range has undead Dwarves, Trolls, Minotaurs, Gnolls, Orcs, Lizardmen and wardogs.

OOP but still pretty cheap all over eBay. Look for the "Ahmut" or "Ahmut's Legion" packs.
