Its been a while since i posted on here due to taking a rest from the project. I have started the terrain boards for the town so heres the wip of the first bit

Quick update as to where I am with this project. Terrain boards are almost finished so will post pics this weekend, started on the town with the telegraph poles to do next and finish buildings off, some more figs coming from Bac Ninh soon so will get them painted up and the command for the Shogunate to do, then I think I am done, might add more minis though , and buildings....

Well I will be gaming tonight to give the rules a run through, only a small skirmish with a scenario of the Imperial troops escorting some villagers to the city, and the Bakufu launching a rescue of sorts to free the villagers who are on their  side will try and get some photos up tomorrow if the battery on the phone lasts long enough!

So we had our game last night. Scenario was for the imperials toe escort the villagers from one side of the table to the other and the Bakufu launch a suprise attack,

The imperials moved forward slowly at first aware that something was up, as they reached the houses the Bakufu launched there attack from the rice fields, this wasn't as successful as was hoped and the firing bought on reinforcements for the Imperials. Then another group fired on the Imperials from the shrine causing some disarray amongst the Satsuma troops.

The Satsuma troops finally managed to form up behind the fencing and returned fire with little success. More Bakufu troops started to come into the battle then with an attempt to outflank the Imperials on their right but the Choshu took up defencive positions in a house and behind a wall, rifle fire was exchanged for a time as each side tried to whittle down  the opposition, after a while the Bakufu Samurai decided (Card did not come up) to make a move through the shrines grounds to launch a frontal assault on the Satsuma lines. The samurai managed to get into hand to hand combat but had taken to much shock and were not strong enough to break the Satsuma lines. The line troops of the Bakufu also charged in and managed to cause the left side of the Satsuma troops to pull back

At this point we called it a night and called it a draw
