The Victorian Outpost

Its a new gaming place in Grimsby with new terrain and new scenery, lots of respect for all wargamers and is the best place to game in town.

Anybody who wishes to visit the venue to arrange a game then  just pm me and lets roll those dice.

Awesome game! :-*

But I'm still missing some fully armoured die-hard traditionalists

Like the guys on the left, you know.

Well, that's Colours all done and finished. Loads of interest in the rules, minis and terrain which was nice. I didn't get any pics so if anyone has some to share that would be great, plans for next year are bouncing around in my brain at the moment, moving the fight into a town, possibly a fight for control of a bridge.

Many thanks to Rokaruto and Jimbibbly for All their help, I will be calling on you again in the future

Plans have started springing into my head to move the fight into the town, basically the board with the town on it already will be the same but I need to make the road a little larger for the movement of troops so maybe go to  a 6 x 5 table?

another board will have buildings on it  and the centre board will have a large river running through it with a bridge to go over, again a large bridge to be able to make the fighting across it reasonable, any thoughts on this would be very helpful indeed. Also, ideas for the bridge would be greatfully received as most bridges I have seen that are sold dont fit right with what I have in mind, would it be of wood construction or would it have a more 19th century feel to it. I will also be adding different troop types to the units with more 'old fashioned' armed units and a Tosa cavalry unit for the Imperials

Again many thanks to Rokurota and Jimbibbly for there help, much respect and I owe you both

Regarding the bridge, unless it was a major trading route near the large centres of commerce then the bridge would be wooden and if you have a look here http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=65902.135 you'll see a simple type that was common through out the country. There are bigger and fancier versions of which I can post a photo when I get home from work.

So, after a break it's time to plan for 2018!
I am planning on moving the battle into the town, that means more buildings and unfortunately for Jimbibbly, more commission's. I will have a large river running through the centre with the town either side, the river will be around a foot wide with a large bridge to cross.
I have started on cavalry for the imperials and plan to add some more traditional minis, it also gives me an opertunity to field some shinsengumi, I have started the first building piece, a samurai house,

This is part of a plan to avoid any new projects this year as the wife and I are planning a move to the West country and I don't need more minis to transport, also I have started on an article for WSS magazine about the Boshin War
