I had a flick through it at salute, and whilst I'm sure it will be very popular it really wasn't my cup of tea. There were lots of beautiful miniatures painted wonderfully, but they were generally photographed in a very formulaic manner. Army X on one side, army Y on the other and obligatory blue sky backdrop behind.
The design was unfortunately a massive let down for me. Things have moved on considerably in terms of miniature photography so much of the book looks dated, like the sort of pictures that used to be on the back of White Dwarf in the 90s. This made the book quite uninspiring to look at (I started flicking quite soon after opening it). and it made the pictures look very similar (it became difficult telling what time period the models were from).
Like I say, other people really liked it and probably think I'm being too harsh, but for me, the book it too sedate and old before it's time.
