A little sideshow o'er at the blog:

An AAR of Humans versus Isengard using SAGA. I need to find a way to include heroes and hobbits (and the odd wizard).

Here's a link and a teaser:

Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Very nice. I've some a similar line to think about - including magicians/monsters/whatever in Saga/Dux Brit.
Measure with a micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with an axe, hammer to fit, paint to match!

I have some fan-made battleboards for Middle-Earth factions, but I haven't read them and don't remember if they include the more extravagant bits.

OK, will do tomorrow (or later today).  :)

Seems I forgot this - I'll try getting it done this evening  :?

I enjoyed your AAR very much.

Thank you! The game was a blast to play!

Sweet game and report! Tabletop is great. I like all the terrain pieces for the battle. It's visually interesting, besides being fun to maneuver around.

Your collection of miniatures shows itself stunningly here. The troops look unified, yet the minis stand out as individuals, particularly on the closer shots.

Using the red markers on the tabletop with the figures made it helpful to see the effects of battle. Simple, and detracted none from the awesome setup!  :o

Glad you had a fun game!

Thank you very much, Mylady!  ;)

Actually, I'm going to make some small bases with skulls on to use as fatigue markers instead (I already have some that I've used to track wounds in LotR Battle Companies, which I played a lot - actually, those two armies almost exclusively consist of minis I painted for various BCs).

Thanks!

Well, I can, when I set my mind to it, but it takes me quite a while to finish such a model. Sometimes MUCH too long a while  lol

While I'm at it, I did a little handywork last week:

Great stuff, Niels. I see some familiar faces taking part in that battle there. :)

Yup, 8 Uruk-Hai, and 8 Rohan warriors arrived just in time for the battle (I got the package in the morning, played the game in the afternoon/evening).

Some of the painted Moria Goblins are bound for the MoM project, as are now the MoM Fellowship minis. I just have to get some of the prepping processes on my workbench done to make space for the Fellowship (I am morbidly obsessed with moldlines, so I cannot prime them before having checked them for any leftovers  ;) ).

Good hat collection ;) :)

I have a hat fetisch  ;)  My fez must have been sitting on the coffee table (or my head), and my other fedoras are on the hat shelf, and the coat stand, at the front door, ready to be used.  lol

Well, this has been neglected a bit for a while, but I have been industriously using my LotR minis for other projects.

Heres a pic of the setup for my first God of Battles test game with experimental LotR proxy lists:

I shall have to paint up some more Gondor/Minas Tirith minis, as I had to make an 'illegal' force of men, combining 2 army lists without using the allies restraints.

The structure of Gob also means that I can make use of the Fellowship characters I paint for the Moria project, so I won't have to paint the entire Fellowship before I can put some on the table.
