Modern Wargaminig Minis- scale comparison shots.
« on: May 01, 2014, 04:13:09 PM »
With the launch of the Spectre Miniatures Kick Starter today I thought it was about time I took some scale comparison shots of my modern wargaming stuff.

I hope you find it useful

Fenris, Spectre, Copplesone Castings, EM4, Warm Acre, Hasslefree

Empress, Hasslefree, Eureka, The Assault Group,

Eureka, concerted Studio Miniatures plastic zombie, Black Cat Bases, Spectre, Britannia Miniatures

As you can see, most of the figures are roughly the same hight, or at least within a normal degree of variation for for humans. The variation in scale comes down to two factors- bulk and gun size.  The older sculpts- Copplestone, em4, TAG and Britannia have bulky frames, big hands and heads and chunky looking guns. The newer sculpts, Eureka, Empress, Hasslefree and of course Spectre, have more realistically proportioned hands and heads, and their guns tend to be more realistically proportioned too (and break more often too IMO).
I have got no real preferences as to scale, but I find the older minis more relaxing to paint as they tend to have less pouches and so on, and so are less hassle. I guess its just a matter of preference.

Thanks for this. I hadn't considered the matter of weapon breakages.

Rob, was the Fenris photog figure a single figure, or from a pack? I don't remember seeing him.
