Rezolution minis scale comparison
« on: July 07, 2016, 04:22:24 AM »
Hey everyone

Does anyone have any Rezolution minis and some other more common miniatures (say a GW Space Marine) to do a scale comparison of? I'm trying to get an idea on their size and my googlefu is failing me.

Cheers!

Rezolution figs match up well with other "normal" 28mm figs. GW Space Marines are overall larger than most 28mm figs.

Most of them work well with other 28mm.  The CSO troopers are hefty, though.

Second and fourth from left are Rezolution, the others are Foundry.

Not sure how much help these will be as it turns out I own zero modern space marines so have a space crusade marine.  :D

Also they do vary a bit so the first pic is the earlier APAC minis I have and the second is the later chunkier CSO officers as posted above.

GW Orc, Rezolution, Hasslefree, Rezolution, Space Crusade Marine

Hope this helps.

Here's a pic I did a while back showing a salvage crew a buddy painted for me. On the right is a Resolution CSO fig ("Classic" Field Engineer).

The fig on the left is an alphaforge fig. Standard 28mm but he's hunched over.  The fig in the middle is Rosie from Reaper. She's a very tall fig, coming in around 32mm.  IIRC, his helmet is a bit more bulbous than the other CSO classic figs so he's a pretty solid 28-29mm sole to eye.

As an aside, I think the Classic CSO figs are really great.  I had a squad of the "Classic Troopers" and they were nice figs that I only got rid of because I had a TON of other sci-fi figs to paint.  They're probably about the closest thing to Serenity Brown Coats. They're also a relative bargain at $3 each and come in 7 sculpts.  In addition to the engineer I did keep the Classic Marshal as he'd make a great ship officer or any other place you need a dashing sci-fi character with a long coat. http://store.aberrantgames.com/cso.html

Thanks for all the input guys!

I asked for a space marine as it's more of a standard across the wargaming communities!

I've been thinking about using them in the upcoming Infinity RPG, esp the APAC minis. They do look like they are closer to the original height of the minis, not the height of the new digital sculpted guys. In saying that I bet I'll still get a couple of APAC guys for a Japanese street gang...their NPCs anyway :P

APAC models will likely be a little taller, but they're all wearing platform boots anyway.

Even with the new style of Infinity sculpting (which has noticeable scale creep)?

Bonus points if you can paint them to look like these:
