15mm Danes
« on: May 03, 2014, 11:46:44 PM »
Been a bit of a while, so here's an image.

Started out as building a unit of 'Mercenaries' for the rules set "Maurice" and I thought that Danes would be a good fit for the period.
Then I stumbled across the web site of the game played for the anniversary of Blenheim, and found that someone had already done all the research for me.  So I've embarked on painting all the units, from both sides.

Here's the first unit.
2nd Battalion, regiment Price Carl
from Bielke's Brigade.

Perhaps the flag needs to be redone.

They look nice. Where are these figures from?
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://tistaminis.com/

They're Old Glory Seven Years War French,

I've always thought that the sculpting on these figures is better than many of the others in their SYW line.

They come in 'No Turnbacks' (these figures)
'Front Turnbacks' only (really a sort of open jacket to reveal the vest)
and 'Front and Back Turnbacks'

All versions of the French infantry uniform in the SYW.
I'm planning to use the 1st & 2nd for British & French in the War of Spanish Succession,
And use the 3rd for the one battalion of Swedes at Blenheim.

Thanks for looking,
MW

Yeep!

Almost a year since I started this.  Here's the 2nd unit in the Project.

1st Battalion, regiment Price George
from Bielke's Brigade.

Perhaps the flag needs to be redone.
