Those miniatures are lovely. I really don't need another source for goblins, but that isn't gonna stop me. The fantastic paint job isn't helping my lead mountain either.

Is it just me, or does the third goblin look like he should be holding a hunting rifle instead of a spear?

"Shhhh, be wery quiet ... I'm hunting wabbit."

My fave is the dopey one who looks like a bored sentry. The models come with a selection of mushrooms for the bases, btw. They're a bit awkward to fit, but I found that drilling a little hole in the base allowed me to poke the end of the stalk in so it could glue securely.

I assume Mike Owen, since he did the Victorian stylie ones from the other part of the Midnight Workshop range.

Fabulous models. They remind me of old school fantasy and the sort of characters you would come across in gamebooks from Fighting Fantasy.

I found their webpage: http://www.artizandesigns.com/list.php?man=22&cat=158&page=1

But didn't see those goblins you posted in here. Are they still to be released, then?

Very nice. Probably good as 15mm trolls as well. Like them a lot.

I guess so. I don't get told the timescales really, I just paint them up. There's a couple on my workbench still waiting for a part to be cast, so perhaps they're waiting to release them all together.

Ooh yes, I like these a lot. A nice move away from the 'standard' look for goblins.

Thanks. It's really easy to do in fairness, just 3 layers of dry-brushing over a black undercoat - first brown, second orange, third silver.

So in this range we have Victorian hooligans and sorcerers...and goblins? Is this intentional? Are we looking at a game background that's a Dickensian-Victorian-Tolkienesque Fantasy crossover? Sounds intriguing. Maybe a supplement for In her Majesty's name?  :D

It's all a little confusing, but 'Midnight Workshop' is Mike Owen's subdivision of Artizan, where he has fun exploring non-historical subjects.

Within 'Midnight Workshop' you have 'Borderlands', which is the traditional fantasy stuff, and 'FOG', which is the Victorian Steampunk stuff.

As far as I know there's no direct link between the two.
