My mantic ghouls and zombies with gripping beast heads and GW skellie arms, work ok but havent finished them, still on the plastic pile. ;D

This is what I'm talking about (or very nearly!) :-*
Measure with a micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with an axe, hammer to fit, paint to match!

I actually think it should be possible to mix in bits and pieces of the odd plastic skeleton, too.  :)

What have I missed here, since several persons seem to be thinking of undead Vikings/Saxons at the same time?

Been looking for possible wildlings and wights (which would be mostly undead wildlings) but nothing really fit the descriptions in the books, and Fenris' draugr made me cave in to the fantasy-viking look. Though Silent Invader's wips are making me think twice.

I hoped to mix and match plastic kits too. Mantic's zombies and ghouls with something else. If vikings, GBP would be the obvious choice. Though putting those and their saxons together for mass battles gave me the heeby-jeebies about 'em. But again, Lowtar's conversions are making me think twice.

I think Redzed did some mixing bits from Mantic (ghouls or zombies), Gripping Beast and Conquest normans, that looked amazing.

I was kinda guessing it might be, but Vikings/Saxons didn't quite settle with me on that thought  lol

I guess I'm probably the only guy on this forum that didn't read those (I've given up watching the show, too much conversation, too little action for my tastes)?

The books have even more conversation, IMO, but are a very satisfying read. To me the books have more plot/counterplot and character development rather than actual battles and action scenes.  The storyline is excellent if you have the patience and time.

Same here, TBH, but the mini choices are a little restricted. :)

I've given up watching the show

I've recorded every aired episode of the current season, all unwatched bar the first. I guess I should watch 'em, but at the mo its something I can't be bothered to do and I'd have to psyche myself up for it. That's not quite right.

The books have enough in them to keep you rushing through the first few volumes, but it slows to a near-crawl as people just seem to meander about. I think that's not helped by the fact that the chapters are split between key characters' viewpoints and GRRM just keeps piling on new ones. So you could read one e.g. Jon Snow chapter, be gripped by the events, and only get one or two more Jon Snow chapters in the rest of the book. And there are other factors that create that effect.

I'd still recommend them though; but then I'm the guy who can't understand why people find LotR slow and boring. :) (They know you can just skip over the songs, right?)

I'm not part of that crowd; I find that most of the stuff some find boring just fires up my imagination.

I've missed Games of Thrones all together. There's enough undead in LoTR and Norse myth without having to cast my net any wider. As for these undead, they'll make a nice random unit to bother BOTH sides of any battle. Damn, I need an evil laugh icon!!!
