It's all really starting to come together now, isn't it?

Seeing them painted up makes me want to get a couple of these. Only ever painted 15mm Maoris, so I'd like to try my hand at the big ones.

Cheers gents,

I have had an odd false start but now into the swing of things, I had to abandon my Moko tattoos simply through lack of skills but dont think they suffer too much.

They are lovely figures and Poly I would certainly advise getting the odd pack to have a bash play with :)

I still have another 40 or so Maori to go so am thinking about a few trade shawls and have a go at more weapon sap outs, the axes were very easy to do and look pretty good to add variety over the range.

Darrel, sorry about catching you mid Sarnie and also in the middle of a lead deal ;)

Really loving it, I have a pile of lead but for once not seeing it as a pile of lead ;D more a list of targets to work through each forming a unit, scenario in my head, quite enthusing :D

BOOK ALERT

Saw this on ebay, cheap (at present) copy of to face the daring Maori, a cracking read of the Flagstaff war from diaries and reports, a real page turner for the period. My copy cost £20 so you can see the deal  ;)

That book is thoroughly recommended, and is probably one of the best reads for anyone doing this period.

While I have you ;D I know the unfiorm for Marines was similar to the Brits but was wondering if the Perry BAL range in forage caps or those with small peaks may double up?

I cannot for the life of me find any reference to their uniform in pictures?

Darrel, sorry about catching you mid Sarnie and also in the middle of a lead deal ;)

That 'sarnie' was like eating through ten sheets of cardboard!  lol

The NWF miniatures made up for that  :D.

Sorry I wasn't able to talk more but three folk that I was supposed to meet from various fora turned up all at once!!  :o :D

Nice to meet you anyway, I know who to look out for now  :D :D

Darrell.
