Palm Trees?

Has anyone used any palm trees similar to these?


Size: Approx. 115mm or 4.53" inch (H) Scale: 1:76-1:120

Do you think they would suit 28mm figures?

They might be a little short, but you could use the foliage and make your own trunks.

Date palms come in all sorts of heights... I found a place some time ago where you could get a lot of different sizes, and gum trees, and akacias, too... a bit expensive, though.

Trees aren't super tall (you'll have to buy elsewhere or make your own), but they look good and are very affordable.

I got some sugarcraft trees throguh Scale Creep miniatures and they are good enmasse. I had hassles ordering from Sugarcraft as they wanted absurd things like photocopies of my credit card and latest statement, and signed letters etc.

However the trees come up well with a bit of work and I will posty some photos later on, of some I painted and based.

I have some palm trees from the same seller I'm working on. I bought them for using with 15mm. I got tired of making my own.

For the outlay, I think they are quite good for the price.

The one in the picture below is described as being 90mm high. I have photographed it with the LAF miniature and an Essex 15mm Norman. I am sorry about the quality of the photo but you can get an idea of their size.



Like the sugarcraft trees, they come up well with a bit of work.

His prices look great! I saw 40 5" tall deciduous trees for $25 US including the shipping charges! Looks like my woodland Indians will have a lot more woodlands to roam soon.

They aren't cheap but they're amazing in detail and have around five different species at different sizes. The palm fronds are all brass etched and they do really stand out on the gaming table. I use all sizes on the gaming table to simulate older/ younger trees.

Pegasus Hobbies makes some nice palm trees in hard plastic.  There's two styles for 28mm and a box of 1:72 scale also.  I've seen them painted up very nicely by one of my friends.  Here's a link to an article on painting and assembling and basing them:
