As always, your painting skills are amazing Doctor!
Can't notice the unpainted hooves.

The George Hamilton near derail made me chuckle too.

Well played Dr. V. These guys all look great....and I have to agree that Boot Hill minis are some of the best being produced today...just great all around.

I may fall back into Nicks trap again soon myself!

I can't wait to see more of yours...

Cheers,

Blue

Thanks mate! I recall discussing a purple Zorro with bibbly and malamute years ago. Hmmmm...

Right you are! Fall in the trap!

Now folks, where do I get bits and bops for my town? Cactii, crates, Windows, carts, wild horses, the works!

I guessthere's no real answer. For starters I need to look in to pencil sharpeners it seems.

Its all as lovely as I would expect from a Dr.T.V. project, but those five soldiers in the first post are exceptional.  They look like really beautiful miniatures to paint - no question - but they look even better than your usual output I think.

Wonderful.

Thanks! Coming from you that is a real honour! We normally seem to have overlapping interests, but I have a feeling you will not be putting a  'G.T.T.' on your door.

Quite right you are about the painting! I did spend somewhat more time on the first batch. In fact I never really got the hang of painting horses... so it's still a learning process! Looking at the highlights on the reins they're absolute crap. I probably need glasses...  lol lol

I have now added images with blue background and no added light to the post. As mentioned before the 'reality' of the paint job is probably somewhere between the white and the blue background. I find that blue gives better images though and sharper details.

lol lol lol

Excellent miniatures.

Thank you sir!

True, but despite my efforts to keep my wandering hobby attention focussed on sci-fi exclusively, I tend to end up with sci-fi versions of other genres/projects, like Future Sailors, Astro Vampires, space cats, sci-fi Hammer Horror and, of course, Firefly/Serenity things.  I try to resist the cheap TV sci-fi approach of adding LEDs to AK47s and bionic eyes and the like to historical/fantasy miniatures, but usually fail and do it anyway.   I could easily imagine justifying some space Mexicans at some point, daft as it sounds.  Is Pedro Cantor a space Mexican?  Probably ;)

Anyway, thats a bit off topic.

Beautiful painting on beautiful miniatures :)

If I were to paint white uniforms, this is probably the compromise I would do:

What do you think?

If one painted 20 of those and stood them shoulder by shoulder (which I clearly will not do) I think it would look decent.

Bloody gorgeous, CV!
 :-* :-*

I think twenty or so would look lovely, so you should not do that at all.
No way, Jose!
 :D

As for pencil sharpeners: If someone should give you the link to the European pimp, that would be a bad thing as you would probably end up buying some, wouldn't you...?

Whoops....it seems that you already have it.....
 ;)

By the way: Do not buy any with horses attached as they are shiiite and an absolute nightmare to remove.

Good thing I didn't go there to buy 3 chucks and a stage coach.

No thanks!

Where wouldn't I get horses if I weren't to then?!

Warbases wont have some good options that I discovered too late.
 :'(

And I did not contact North Star and ask for some of their DMH stagecoach horses.
No, I didn't.
No way......

Another option that you should never consider is ERTL cows pimped up as oxen.
Certainly not.

Brilliant! I'm still considering not to use Dixon too.

I might not use the warbases stuff for my Saxons. They wouldn't need some live stock. And those longhaired cattle are not looking proper in any way.

Anyway with civilians, mariachi band, chucks, coaches and loads of Mexicans and other crap not on it's way I probably won't do this project.

It would be tedious and long-winded.
