OK I give up. I will never be able to paint this to the level it deserves...

Here's Zorto - not quite Zorro, but sort o'... nah - I think what I'm trying to purvey here is that I'll probably paint another one of these later. Properly! Fir starters I'd give'm a purple inner cape. AH WELL!

I actually started painting this one in 2011 I think - Malamute was so kind to give me a Zorro mini (and some other crap). In fact the only thing I painted just now is the skin... and the eyes. So the rest is me painting 3 years ago.  lol

I've always been very enthusiastic about Zorro and I believe I spent quite a few hours in front of the television watching the show from Disney as a child.
If I was to start this today I think I'd steer clear of the sharp highlights. It doesn't really work. I think the original idea was to make it look like silk.

A scenery shoot may be redeeming though:

Ah back on track with the Zorro and NOT the Mexican army or the army of Sam Houston.

(I forgot to paint the hooves of the white horse I see now  lol...)

The sargento almost looks a bit depressed. Maybe he's wondering if his life has any real meaning or if he's just a past time while the painter is waiting for something else to arrive?

Here's on a blue background:

 lol

The pink sword?  ::)

Lovely paintwork on those figures, and well done for not falling into the trap of starting a whole project of them...

yes,  I have safely veered away from that trap.  Imagine the total lack of spine I would have demonstrated if I hadn't. .... 8)
