Z is for Zorro! or - I'm so not doing that Tex-Mex thing ;-) 24/07 upd.

OK I give up. I will never be able to paint this to the level it deserves...

Here's Zorto - not quite Zorro, but sort o'... nah - I think what I'm trying to purvey here is that I'll probably paint another one of these later. Properly! Fir starters I'd give'm a purple inner cape. AH WELL!




I actually started painting this one in 2011 I think - Malamute was so kind to give me a Zorro mini (and some other crap). In fact the only thing I painted just now is the skin... and the eyes. So the rest is me painting 3 years ago.  

I've always been very enthusiastic about Zorro and I believe I spent quite a few hours in front of the television watching the show from Disney as a child.
If I was to start this today I think I'd steer clear of the sharp highlights. It doesn't really work. I think the original idea was to make it look like silk.

The sargento almost looks a bit depressed. Maybe he's wondering if his life has any real meaning or if he's just a past time while the painter is waiting for something else to arrive?
