Tales of New Assumption, Oklahoma
« on: 22 May 2014, 03:59:05 AM »
After some years away from Old West gaming, my current group is really moving forward with getting it back off the ground. This happens to coincide with me re-starting my blogging activities. Check out the rest of the photos and some post-game ramblings - http://geektactica.blogspot.ca/2014/05/legends-of-old-west-marshall-ambrose.html

More miniatures and terrain in the works and lots more games coming your way. Despite the hardships of their predecessors, the citizens of new Assumption will not be driven off by outlaws and cut-throats. We hope...

Some cracking pictures and paintjobs there and nice short AAR's to go with the action  :D. I have found the Old West a particular little beast to handle, I stray but always come back to it for a mini or two, a building, maybe a wagon and now I've found I need some nice scatter terrain as well...  ;)

I personally never liked the LOTOW rules, they were the first I ever tried with the Old West and even though it was fun creating the campaign and the fluff (based on The Good, The Bad and The Ugly), the players and I found them quite unforgiving as such as when one player had made headway it was extremely difficult to catch up unless you were really, really lucky and even then it might be a futile attempt. It was simply too much of an uneven fight. But all that counts at the end of the day is that YOU the player is having fun, and apparently you are, so that's a win there for you  ;).
The most important thing in the hobby is that you're having FUN! Doesn't matter if you win or lose.
