Cheers. The one just posted is an old Westwind 7 Seas pirate (I think that was the name of the range, fantasy pirates). The undead chap is a oldish Reaper one.

Looking really good and have no doubt it will be excellent when finished....meanwhile I am enjoying your "plan it as you go" style of building....something I can relate to

Couple more pics...some work done on the entrance, I've filled all the edges around windows, door etc and started on the roofing structure. Ordered some half round channelling for the pantiled roofs but got the wrong size so waiting for another order to arrive  >:(

Lolly sticks. Got a bag of 1000 a couple of years back for another project....perfect for almost everything.

I had to work with lolly sticks to build my repeating crossbow, but sometimes using balsa is much quicker and leads to better results.
Lolly sticks have all the same whidth, which is really practical, but they have to be cut on both ends, and cutting that wood is much harder than working with balsa... that's more expensive, but with 5$ you're probably going to have enough for the whole building plus something! :)

Cheers

I started using the sticks and kind of got in the habit....I did a 'hardwood' floor for a dining room game and after 4 coats of varnish it really looked the part. It also gives it a lot of strength. I use a pair of snips to cut the so that is easy enough. The roof part I have no made is nicely uneven as I planned it to be but the pantile plastic rod has arrived and I have no idea how I am going to do it!
