Velvets' Custom Cast Chibis
« on: 28 May 2014, 10:28:02 PM »
Hi there, I thought id just show these minis off that I sculpted, cast and painted for me son to play Super Dungeon Explore and a homebrew Galdiator style 1 on 1 and 3 on 3 game.

Ive already posted these on the Soda Pop Forums and Talk Fantasy Football but here they are for any who haven't seen them. Mainly a collection of 90's video game characters.

Thanks for looking!

Once painted up they look just fine  ;)

I can instantly recognize the FF7 characters which is possibly my favorite game and the Castle Crashers knights.

I agree with Katsuhiko & jimbibbly; i.e., they are cute, but without being saccharine; AND the sculpting, painting et al is MOST IMPRESSIVE. VERY WELL DONE!

Thanks very much for the kind words everyone, really appreciate it :)

Once painted up they look just fine  ;)

I can instantly recognize the FF7 characters which is possibly my favorite game and the Castle Crashers knights.

Yeah FF7 is the best, played it to death when it came out. Same with Castle Crashers, me and the eldest have completed so many times to unlock the characters, well worth the xbox points :)

Very impressive given the entirety of the project  8) 8)

Sculpting, casting and painting all in house, not often you see that  :)

Thanks James! Ive only been doing the metal casting this year but really enjoy the process. Learned it all off Youtube and various forums lol. Really recommend it.

Cheers again folks!

Yeah he loves them, hes petitioning for 32mm Minecraft minis now...

Great work! Very impressive. What are you using to cast them?
Thanks mate. Theyre cast from lead free pewter, its got a higher melting point to lead but I can cast indoors without the wife kicking off over noxious fumes etc. One of the Mortal Kombat ninja has a Oven Bake clay head, It captured the detail really well (Id ran out of metal at the time )

Would kill to get hold of the final fantasy and castle crashers ones. Nice work.
The Castle Crasher Knight was part of Impact! miniatures last kickstarter as a cheeky stretch goal.  They should be cast in their Trollcast Resin and sold in their store later this year. (Their other Chibis are great too, check them out if you haven't already) Or feel free to PM me and I can cast any of these minis to order (I can mix and match the pieces too) The Bald lady green sculpt is a current WIP - she will have a choice of weapons when I get round to finishing her.

Couple more WIPs. Nearly finished them. Not had much chance to do any gaming, painting or sculpting - I blame the World Cup!

Hehe awesome! I wish they' release it on Xbox360 :'( I loved the blitzball mini game in it, where you had to talk to NPCs and sign them up for your team, and level them up in the game. X-2 was cool too.

Just shot you a PM:)
