Thanks guys, it was only meant to be a quick whip-up for the comp but it kind of snowballed. Glad you like it.

I don't know how you could do it. I find hard plastic figures too much of a fiddly pain in the arse to bother with, let alone the little bendy bastards.  :)

Top job.

I used a new medical scalpel blade and did my best to slice off all the mould lines - I still ended up with a few scraggy bits in corners that I just stuck down with paint! I must admit, some of those joins from repositioning limbs and heads are not particularly secure either.

Finally got a photo of this guy.
A Foundry Indian Mutiny figure.
About four hours total painting time.

Some more lovely paint jobs on our journey to 100, I'm in the process of painting a Naval gun and crew for the New Zealand wars, does anybody have any idea on barrel and woodwork colours for the naval guns in the 1840's? I've looked through my reference books here but I have nothing that helps.
I've finished the figures and now have the gun to do and then hopefully I can get it posted on this thread.

Thanks in advance Jeff.

I'd be tempted to go bronze and grey respectively, if only because that's what I used to paint my Napoleonic artillery guns.

I do know some Napoleonic ships captains liked their men to paint the gun barrels, to avoid having to polish them! I don't know how much leeway the navy gave individual captains in the 1840's though.

In times of the future when fears are abating

I can think of no better reason than that. Looks like he has painted his gun too.

No. 49 - Death Comes to Dar Fur

Trooper, Sudanese Camel Corps, Dar Fur, 1916.
(Perry Miniatures conversion)

The land of the Fur was impossibly remote, and they were a people who knew nothing of Archdukes and Ententes, or trench warfare and tanks. Yet even here the great Breaking of Nations that had swept the world could not be avoided, and so soon the machine gun and aeroplane would do their work, bombs would rain from the sky, and another royal line would shortly see its last monarch draw his final breath.
