IHMN Martian War
« on: 05 June 2014, 08:23:21 AM »
I get hints that the world of IHMN is set after the failed Martian invasion as set out in Mr Wells' excellent memoir, and that more information will be forthcoming in the September issue of WSS.  ;D

So, can anyone tell me where can I place a pre-order for this mag ?

It's not one I normally see on the shelves, and I don't really want to take out a sub  :-[

Thanks Craig. My bad  :D

I am especially interested because the “All Quiet On The Martian Front” Kickstarter is now shipping and I have quite a large box coming which includes at least a dozen Martian Tripods.

The game is 15mm and tripods stand at least 8 inches high and if we assume that a 15mm model is about 3mm/foot  that’s about 65 feet tall, which is in line with the book, and I believe makes them the first Wargame model Tripods that are the correct size.

The interesting bit is that the same 8 inch model equates to about 43 feet in 28mm scale, so would be just as terrifying on an IHMN table  :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

I look forward to September – by when I will have some tripods painted.

I saw a couple of the tripods at Partizan. Nick Eyre was showing them off.

They are actually about the right height (8" & 10" high) to represent a couple of the types in the Martian Invasion mini-supplement.

As far as public knowledge goes; pleased to see you aren't distracted by those lurid stories in the popular press...

Actually, I've thought of several occurrences of things going 'bump in the night' to be visitors of other planets, including the possibility of Space 1889 not-elves.

As for the rumors of shadowy figures of a, *ahem*, chitinous nature...

Ah, I believe my subscription still has an issue to go!

Yes Craig, I know that.

They don't have month titles though, the website sells by numbered issue only  :D :D :D

So, again, what number will it be please  ???

The numbering is sequential though. The latest issue is 73 and as WSS is bi-monthly, there won't be an august issue...  ;)

Ok, thanks that's a spot on answer.

Now, do I get a single issue or go for a subscription ?

Trial subscription now ordered.

I had promo email from them as well, so I got the next 6 issues plus 3 other for £30.
