Pay for setting up a Facebook Page? Help needed Urgently!!

Hi folks,

As the title suggests I'm in the process of setting up a Facebook page for my Just Add Water Painting Service and I came across a section asking what my "Daily Budget" is..... I'm not entirely sure what they mean by this.

1/ do they mean I have to pay Facebook?

2/ do they mean I have a certain amount of money that I spend on my interests?

3/ What do they mean by this???

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I've just been informed that setting up a Group would reach more people as the Pages are being restricted to a small number of notifications.

I reckon that this will be the path I follow.

it means that you can pay to have your posts appear on the news feed of people who don't follow you, as a promoted page.
i get asked to do it all the time, all it means is that anyone who follows alot of similar pages will see yours on their feed aswell, which helps spread your page

That is probably for advertising or boosting you posts to reach a wider audience in which case you pay for them to be seen by others than your friends. You don't need to pay at all. There may be a skip button to press.

I've opened a Group instead, that way I know that i won't have to pay a penny- miserly of me I know!

As you have a business, be aware that Facebook (naturally) would very much like you to pay them.

One of the ways this will materialize is that after a certain number of followers/friends, your posts are no longer automatically distributed to all of them but rather some random sample of them -- and you have no idea which ones got the message and which ones didn't.

Unless you fork out for business promotion services, ofcourse.

No idea what the limit is, probably won't be a problem until you're into 3 digits at least. But that's just one example of the things they do and they're inventing new ones all the time. Nothing on a service like Facebook is guaranteed, they can and will change anything, anytime, in any way they choose.

The whole purpose of FB is to advertise (socialize is euphemism.)   Of course you should pay to advertise.

I got this facebook stuff 2 days ago and I fully understand the OP's WTF confusion. Not very intuitive.

It used to be. I got mine about 6 years ago and since then it has had several major updates, which to a current user were a bit of an inconvenience, but to someone new were completely incompressible.

As for the payment,  its optional, it just means your posts appear on the news feeds of people who don't follow you.
