2 pieces of Industrial Sci-Fi terrain
« on: 10 June 2014, 10:29:13 PM »
This weekend I finished off a couple of pieces of sci-fi industrial terrain.  Like most of my stuff, they are built mainly of 2nd hand toys and random bits.

Not built with a specific game in mind, but they are fairly generic and will probably see use in games like Wastelands, Tomorrow's War and Warpath.  More pics and a walkthrough of the method and components used here: http://chicagoskirmish.blogspot.com/2014/06/sci-fi-industrial-buildings-from-old.html

They would look great in a lot of different settings.

I have to admit my first thought was Necromunda...

I reckon a few areas of rust and some chips on the paintwork here and there would really bring it to life.

Thanks!

If I had anyone who was interested in Necro it would definitely get use there.  I've got at least 3 gangs worth of figs waiting for the day that someone in the club gets interested.

As to the rust and such, I've gone back and forth about the amount of effort to put into these kind of structures. When seen in person, person the dark brown was does make some nice rust spots, but I dropped the metallic chipped paint step a while back.  I just don't have the time to dedicate to gaming as I used to, so getting it done as fast as possible to an acceptable standard has become the priority.  I'm considering putting some a bit of rust via orange  dry brushing on future models as it's worked pretty well in the past.

They look very good, colourful while still being grungey and knackered up.
