Battle of Bushy Run AAR
« on: 12 June 2014, 03:59:56 PM »
We played our first games on the new interactive diorama at Bushy Run Battlefield.  The diorama is not completely finished but it is close.  It was close enough for us to be excited about getting a couple of games in at any rate.

The Native Americans moved up to the attack quickly, moving much faster than their opponents in the woods.  The British rangers moved up to slow their advance but, while they were successful locally the greater numbers of native warriors told and the skirmishers were quickly shaken and outflanked.

The highlanders were sent to deal with the threat but whlie they were able to engage a small part of the native force ultimately they faced the same trouble as the rangers and the Natives moved quickly to attack the supply column, the most important part of the expedition.

Fortunately for the British the commander of the Royal Americans had some trouble getting his troops motivated after their long and thirsty march.  So they became, in effect, the reserve.

As the Native Americans launched their attack on the column the 60th sprang into action and drove the warrios away from the North side of the column and attacked and destroyed the warriors that were approaching from the south side.

Pictures follow.

The Goal: The road to Ft. Pitt looks open, but that is very deceiving.

Native Americans are watching the road closely to make sure that no supplies get through to the beleaguered garison.

The supply column is tired, thirsty and ready to lay down after their long, over-night march.  They are going to have to fight to get both the rest and the water.

The column starts to react to the first shots between the rangers and the native americans:

The 42 tries to get to grips with the Native Americans in the woods:

The decisive action, the warband destroyed by the 60th:

Sorry for the extra post, it seems like I couldn't get these lines into the last one.
