Sci-fi WIPs
« on: 09 July 2014, 08:58:50 PM »
My current main project is sci-fi mostly using old Rogue Trader era minis. Most figures have some degree of convertion or puttywork so I'll post the WIP pics here. First up a couple of minis recently finished off.

Metal heavy weapon marine with plastic missile launcher:

Converted Chainsaw warrior figure:

Thanks for the comments! I do need to get some more of these painted soon have so many prepp'd and ready for priming.
Got 3 dreadnoughts recently and made the first one up in the contemptor pattern with 4 bolters. There's something really satisfying about the weight of these models!

There is something about a metal figure. Great work. I can never get the putty that smooth.

Ive only recently started with modelling putty and like people above have said, it is quite hard to get it that smooth. Hopefully one day haha  lol

Very nice conversion work too...

I use a mix of greenstuff and milliput which its possible to get really smooth. Would recommend it!!

Some new pics from the workbench.

Something was bugging me about the halflings rifle so I tried to add some detail to it:

Rebased a foundry swat mini and based a Brother Meredith mini. The original Meredith figure leans forward at quite an angle so I've stood him up a bit. This meant some sculpting on the right leg armour and new feet.

More figs ready for priming:

Think I've finished painting the plasma marine. My second marine painted of the current batch!

Thanks for looking!
