Chapel of the Dead AAR 7/27
« on: 11 July 2014, 02:09:08 AM »
It's been a while since I have been this active in the forums and I don't know how long it will last, but I'm hoping! We're gearing up around here to make a big push with Thrilling Adventure. It will probably be a few months before it's done, but I'm excited for it and I hope some of you will be as well. It's very different from .45 Adventure and I'll be putting a demo version up some time in the next month.

Anyway, I want to run the scenario I am using for GenCon again before I get there. I don't have the exact terrain necessary (guess I'll have to buy an MBA castle) but I thought that if I could not have a haunted castle, I could have a spooky cemetery. I pulled out my cemetery scenics and started off with Emile Lusk in the ruined Chapel. So here I present to you... The Chapel of the Dead!

Thanks!

It was a resin piece that I based, built an interior for and painted. The below shot (The Gargoyle, Bridget, and Mo) is my scratch-built wrought-iron fence and mausoleum.

Thanks! I hope to get a shot of the whole table set-up this weekend. But I'll probably post some more individual shots tonight.

And I was talking over on our Facebook page with another person and figured I would throw out there that the "chapel" is actually a 20mm church. It's small size makes it perfect for 28mm miniatures as a small personal place to worship vs. a big "to-scale" church.

Looks great!  Scales perfectly as well.  Never would have thought it was a 20!

And here "Little" Paul Wolinsky and his gang take on the New Commerce Police among the gravestones.

And here is a 6 gravestone piece with a slight rise created for it. The gravestones can be placed flat on the board or on the rise. With the rise, I can have secret spaces beneath the graves where "heroes" or villains can have their lairs.

Call it Wildwood Cemetery and that's a perfect place for The Spirit!

And in preparation for the big playtest game of Thrilling Adventure on Sunday, here is my whole graveyard set up. Needs some dead trees, so I guess I should work on those, but this will be it for Sunday.
