@Daeothar - yep, he's one big ape!

The final figure in this crew is their leader (a Rogue Trader):

She was built from a Valiant Miniatures figure with lots of added greenstuff and bits:

That's one crew down - probably more to come! More pics over at my blog.

Loving the 54mm stuff! There is something hugely appealing about the 54mm figures.

Good work.  It's funny how those enormous Orlock shoulder pads do not look at all small on a 54mm figure. lol

Thanks folks! Totally agree about the Orlock pads - they're perfect for 54mm!!

Latest figure is a bit of an exercise in seeing what I could do with a modern plastic GW figure of the right size. This guy was based on an ogor bloodpelt hunter. I removed the original crossbow and trophies, trimmed down the belly and added a new head, gun and accessories. Pretty happy with the results.

Wow, that’s a great conversion! The green stuff and paint blended everything together really well- I wouldn’t have realized that it was a conversion. I like the samurai head, too. That and the tattoo gives a cool vibe.

I'd say he's the best so far.

The head really completes the aethetic and I love that tatoo on his shoulder.

Thanks all! I wasn't sure it would all work together until I added the tattoo. Thankfully, I think it worked :)

That is absolutely beautiful! I love what you did with that ogor (seriously GW did put a copyright now on that word, I guess?). That is so much RT style in a single piece. Brilliant.

Another example of the greatness of 54mm is the Jokaero. I just love him! Where is the model originally from?

@DivisMal - yeah, I think GW can't copyright 'ogre', but they can copyright 'ogor' :D The jokaero is from L72's Minatures Musings.

Latest 54mm fig is actually one intended for 28mm. It's an upscaled version of a Rogue Trader Castellan robot sculpted by Drew Williams and briefly available through Troll Soup Miniatures (currently on hiatus). I don't know why Drew sculpted it so big, but for me it's a perfect upscaling for 54mm gaming:

The paint job is inspired by the whacky example colour schemes shown in the Warhammer 40,000 Compendium.

That’s very cool and fits in well 8)

I don’t think it would fit for 28mm really looking at your comparison photo.
