Don't ask.  Awful (and still ongoing) series of events: lots of mud slinging, lies and double standards. Has done a lot of damage to the already poor reputation of TMP.

Best of luck with the new forum Michael.

TMP bashing (right, wrong, indifferent,) will get this thread locked so let it drop, please.

Gracias,

Glenn

Just had a look. Has the makings of a good site, I reckon.

You've just gained another member!

Hi, glad you have joined.
It is not a UK forum though really, it is a global internet forum owned by 2 English people.
We want to make it clear it is a global community where ones nationality is not of much relevance.

In fact I suspect the amount of UK users are much less than 50% of the total users.

Not having a go at you by the way, just want to make it clear that everyone is welcome regardless of nationality.

I hope this can now become my new home from home!

I'd say I'm already here. ;)

Looks nice. Though based on 'other forums' (note plural), don't let that chit chat thing take over or poison the forum. And jings, don't call yourselves editors. Way too much baggage with that term. What's wrong with 'admin' and 'moderators'?

If there's a trading section, try to somehow make it like LAF, as it works well. The other site works well for North American (almost exclusively American) trading, but I won't pay to use it any more. I'd rather... eBay!

Thanks, glad you like it.

There is nothing wrong with admin or moderator, what is wrong with editor?
;)

The thing is…
We view TWW as a web magazine, it has a news section, it has a magazine article section, it has a forum, it has adverts and so on.
If it were just a forum then moderator would seem a good fit, however as there are things we actually edit, and as we see it as a magazine we chose editor.
It is just a job title, nothing more or less.

Admin seemed wrong somehow, maybe a bit misguiding?
You could be forgiven for not knowing it was our business if we called ourselves admin, you may end up asking who is in charge.
After all, with real business and this is just that, admin staff are not the owners.
But then owner seems like we are trying to distance ourselves from the community by rising above the normal site members.

We liked editor as we are indeed editors, it seems not too aloof and not too junior a title.
You know, like Fireman Sam being a fireman, Postman Pat being a postman, Doctor Spock being… wait what?

You get the jist I hope.

Hi there is a trading section, it is accessible to Sponsoring members.
Sponsoring members get access to the Magazine Articles that are published, they get access to the Sponsors forum, they also have a say in how TWW is run.
This month also, the fees for Sponsoring members will be donated to charity.

Sponsoring membership is just £1.00 a month for all the above and it helps keep TWW running.
