Author Topic: Vallejo Satin Varnish, not shiney enough, gloss varnish is too shiny, any tips?  (Read 1580 times)

I want the armour on samurai I am painting to have a bit of a shine to it, but not so as strong as gloss varnish as that's a little much and doesn't look right.

I tried Vallejo satin varnish but I can't really see a difference between it and the matt varnish. Has anyone else had this issue? Is it just a bad batch? What satin varnish do you use yourselves?

Thanks

Carl

I do like the Satin Varnish, but it isn't shiny, really. Why not do a 50/50 mix of Satin and Gloss, and see what happens? It would bring up the shine, I think.

That hadn't even crossed my mind. Worth a shot. Will try it on a base or something first though, incase it goes horribly.
