Lt. Dick Winters - Historicon Figure
« on: 05 September 2014, 06:14:43 PM »
Hello all

I am not much of a WWII guy, and therefore hardly make it over to this section of the site.  I did however get the limited Historicon figure from Warlord to paint as a present for my brother-in-law, who loves Band of Brothers more than you can imagine.  My wife looked around for a display case, and came up trumps with an over-sized mirrored baseball display box which was approximately a four inch cube (do cricket balls get collected in the same manner as baseballs?).

The figure itself is pretty good, although the thumb of the left hand is a bit muddy and blends in a bit with the gun, and there are similar problems with the webbing on the left side.  Most of that will not matter on the table top, but since this cost me $20 USD (with shipping) one wishes that the detail was a bit sharper.

Thanks all!  Now that I know how to paint Airborne for that period, it would sort of be a shame not to paint more...

And General, I wish I had seen that picture before I painted this figure... clearly shows where they got the pose!
