very nice, the bases look great already too - are you adding tufts of grass or do you have something else in mind?

Thanks  :)
As for the bases, I was thinking of yellowish grass. Might try it on an other Mini, though  :D

Do you mix caucasian flesh tones into the dark brown for the skin?

Not all from one set, Hammers. They are spread out over a number of packs in the DA range.

Isn't that typical. Foundry are experts at spreading their useful miniatures thin among their blisters.

Checking the Foundry site I see they aren't quite as spread out as I thought. Three of them come from DA1/4 Askari Command (Miss Boobies, Bugle Boy and Machete Mike). Personally I would say the others in that pack are equally if not more interesting and useful than the ones seen here. So all in all a jolly good pack to have.

The Butler chap comes from "Stanley's Search For Livingstone" and the overburdened gun-bearer from "Big Game Hunt." Both of these are good packs with useful and characterful figures that are worth having, so I think you are being a little harsh, though I wouldn't normally be defending Foundry's packing and sales policies.

As a slight diversion into pedantry, these were originally all in one pack: DA4, Askari Charcaters, along with three other figures.  Later, as Plynkes has identified, "Mboni" and "Sir Garnet" were diverted into other packs.

I always thought the idea of a gun bearer was a bit funny.

I'd hate to need that gun when the elephant charges from cover and the bearer decides it is time to run away and takes the gun with him/her! :o

But instead of a charging elephant it could be some quail that require the shotgun. The gun bearer is there to give you options.
