Rogue Trader nostalgia.
« on: 17 September 2014, 12:23:22 PM »
Yes, I've been infected by it. ;D

Like others, I've decided to start by painting up what I need to replay the dodgey scenario in the back of the book, The Battle at the Farm.

So here are the first five of the 16 Crimson Fist Marines in that scenario.

And the orks I have so far, painted almost two years ago for the LPL. The Hvy Bolter and the flamer won't see play in the game.

Both forces look great.  Im more partial to the orks these days, but I would have had more interest in the marines back in the day.
I have plans to play/replay some of the old published 40K scenarios including this one soonish, but nothing is locked down just yet.  I will keep an eye here for the undoubtedly inspirational ruined space-farm terrain to come though.

You may know already, but BatF was rewritten and revised into a mini campaign for modern 40k in White Dwarf for some anniversary or other back in the 2000s.  Regardless of what system you plan to use to play the scenario, it might be fun to take a look at that to expand it out if you feel inclined.

Thanks for the info Cheetor. Where could I get hold of the scenarios, is there some on line source?

they managed to put a lovely amount of menace into those beakies didnt they.

yup - I think the uncluttered approach works best with the marine models.

Thumbs up! Great work.

The beakies are the only real marines for me...
