Shocking and saddening news. He wrote wonderful, inspiring articles and was great on the forums. RIP.

A big loss to the gaming scene; thank you for passing on the sad news, I had not heard.  I remember Allen being very active during the WAB heyday (and was involved in tinkering with the Hannibal book), but also really enjoyed his recent Cold War articles in WSS.

Very sorry to hear this news.  I knew him primarily through TMP a few years back, and he struck me as being an extremely intelligent person and an enthusiastic and knowledgeable gamer.  I had two or three mini-purchase transactions, with him, and could not have asked for a more honest trading partner.

Very sad news.

Similar to James, I had quite a lot of contact with Allen, when I was doing the WAB Spartacus book.

We had some 'lively' exchanges and didn't always agree but I respected his knowledge and always read his posts with interest.

RIP Allen
