My Greek Army for Bolt Action Rules
« on: September 22, 2014, 03:45:13 PM »
The picture Below was the Greek army I used for Bolt action at Dunfermline Dwarf Club
http://www.dwarfclub.com/Operation_Totalize_2014_V2.0.pdf
I won two out of Three, but should have won all three.
It was only my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th game, so not bad.
Tank, Bren carrier and Artillery models are Bolt action.

Are the Greeks Rif Raf or Italians? If they are Rif Raf where can you get them from now they don't seem to be on the Rif Raf site. Close ups would be appreciated but looks a fun force to use.

They will be back out through Rif Raf early next year when the range is 100% complete.
I need to have one sniper, Medic and two other figures done ?.
Due to problems with my EX brain ops and my father very ill, I have not had much time to sort out anything this year.

I also expect the newer additions to the range!
David my best wishes!

Nice Army, too!
I have a small comment on the army:
Too much armour and SMGs included in the photo. The greek army of 1940-1941 suffered from long lasting absence of more modern weapons (SMGs, anti tank weapons -that is why they used hand grenades- and armoured cars or if you prefer cars in general). However a couple of extra guns would be a welcome addition (for mountain use)

At the later stage of the war greek army made a good use of captured materials, for e.g. Breda guns and mortars. Greek army converted a factory section to produce ammos for italian captured materials. They even organised a batallion(?) of captured italian tanks! (BTW I do not know whether they were actually used.)

Hi argsilverson
It is a Bolt Action army, so they are never 100% correct.
The Artillery is a 100mm 1914/19 (Skoda) Italian gun which they used, Since I can't find a 155mm 1917 (Schneider) model for Heavy Artillery
I need Heavy Artillery to counter late war Tanks for the games, since it was 1939 to1945 armys.
The Greeks did not have Vickers Light Tank, but the British Army in Greece Did.
the 19th Motorised Division
http://ww2greece.wargaming.info/div19.htm
The Regiment gun 65mm mountain Gun is the correct one I should have used for the Infantry company or Pak 35/36 Anti-tank gun
U Tube THE ITALIAN INVASION OF GREECE 1 to 6 has a great picture of captured Greek Equipment eg pak 35. Bulgarian_75mm_Schneider 1904 etc.
