Rubble Counters?
« on: September 24, 2014, 01:16:11 PM »
Hey,

As the title suggests, does anyone know of somewhere where I can either buy or print off some 'rubble counters'?

I'm working on a 6mm project with paper buildings, and ideally, when a building is destroyed I'd like to be able to take it off the table and replace it with a number of small 'rubble counters'.

I've Googled it thoroughly, but to no avail.

Cheers,

MM.

Not sure what period you're looking for, but there are some SF ones at GameCraft Miniatures that may work.

If you can find them (again assuming SF), GW produced loads of epic ruins.

There was a company that produced cardboard buildings that came with ruins you could put inside. I have some at home, so I'll check the name. There's a very good chance, however, that they're long out of production

Check out ASL or Squad Leader - either actual games or online versions.

IIRC, there were rubble counters included.

I have a whole parts box full of SL counters somewhere...

I've built some of those too. Dunno what brand they are, all I know is that the artwork is by Peter Dennis.

The buidlings were by a company called Hard Cover Designs. It was indeed Peter Dennis, and the date on them is 1980. I did a quick search, but couldn't find any mention of the company, so they may be long gone.

The ruins were described as "paint your own" - you get the outlines and you're meant to colour them in o_o

I don't know what format the ones you have are, but if they're on A4 sheets (or equivalent), you could scan them and take them into photoshop (paintshop pro, gimp etc) and edit them to produce ruins.

indeed, while the buildings are coloured, the ruins are B&W prints you have to colour yourself.
I concur with zemjw, scan your sheets, shrink them a bit, so they fit under the original model and then just cut the walls so the building looks ruined.

*EDIT*
Have a look at Microtactix 15mm paper models. their B-set has several ruined floors. And at $10 you won't be ruined (pun intended  ;D)
You'd still need to edit them for size, but I'm sure you'll like the artwork.
