New series of 28mm Medieval Fantasy buildings coming
« on: September 29, 2014, 10:31:52 PM »
We have released the first in a series of 28mm scale medieval fantasy buildings. This will be an ongoing series, with additional building types of a similar style to eventually create a village or small town.

To begin is this simple, one room well constructed by modest village home.

We have some furnishings available too, and more to come soon.

Thanks for looking!

Not bad, be curious to see what else you come up with.  Do the buildings stand fine without the base platform?  (I assume that base is included?).

The base is included, of course, but they would stand fine without it. However, the floor detail is engraved into the base material.

It will also be available (in the next day or so) with a base cut to size. It will be one of the options available.

I love it!  Very characterful.  I look forward to the rest of the series...and a bundle deal!

Thanks, gonna add some painted/finished pictures tomorrow, if I can get my camera to cooperate. =)

And a bundle deal will definitely be in the works.

Those door fittings are very nice, will they be available separately?

Yes, they will actually. They are quick cuts, mostly thinner tag board material, so you will probably get a good sized collection of door fittings for a fairly cheap price.

Our goal is to wait until we have a good variety of door fittings and add them then.

They will be available here in our "Scratch Builders Corner":

In other, related business, here is the first finished, painted studio model.

Looking good!  Is the shingle detail on the roof a texture or are there just lines cut where the shingles are (i.e. does it look flat in profile, or are the shingle edges raised)?

Any idea what the next building might be?

Very cool.  I also suspect the man available "shingle" strips could work well on this, to tart it up a bit.  Nice looking job.  Really partial to the lovely fireplace.

Thanks for the kind words.

The shingles are engraved, but using gray scale before etching, they engrave deeper the darker the lines are. We are actually working on making the individual shingles more pronounced, as the horizontal lines show up quite clearly, but the way I painted it sort of obscured the vertical lines, but there are deeper vertical lines.

As a side note, the fireplace and indeed, pretty much any of our detail pieces will be for sale on their own.

As for what is next, we are doing to mundane stuff first, ie. just some houses. We are trying to build a village from the ground up, and we decided to do some homes first, then the businesses. I am dying to design a mill with a water wheel. =)

Thanks again,
Jim
