Tirailleurs Senegalais for Bolt Action
« on: 03 October 2014, 05:34:34 PM »
Hey all,
I painted up some Tirailleurs Senegalais for some Early War Bolt Action, and thought I'd put them up here as well. It's just two heavy weapon stands so far, but I plan to add more as I get my hands on some extra miniatures. They're supposed to end up as a 500 point force, but who knows.

Anyways, pictures:

The pictures came out a bit dark, and I'm not sure that the colours of the uniforms are 100% authentic, but I'm quite pleased with them. I'll most likely do a squad or two more and some regular fremchmen to go with them, using them as an ad hoc platoon of mixed units banding together to face the german onslaught

happy the guy who can say "this is the authentic colour of French Uniform"  ;)
nice minis, nice bases too ...

just one thing, on the french MG, the tripod is painted , the MG is black gunmetal  ;)
Dans les situations critiques, quand on parle avec un calibre bien en pogne, personne ne conteste plus. Y'a des statistiques là-dessus.

Ouch, that calls for a Quick-Fix!

But thanks for the nice comments nonetheless, it's much appreciated!

Where did you get the heads from? I was thinking of doing something similar to make a few Sengalais troop units...

They are simply plastic heads from the Perry Sudanese sprue. The MG Gunner have been given an Adrian helmet from the original head, simply filed down.

they look great! And the Perry head idea is great too!
wouldn't have thought about it myself, cause the Perry heads are rather small

here, have a quick look   ;)

senegalese heads are also available from Woodbine and Forgotten Glorious
