Relocating to Aberdeen(shire)
« on: October 05, 2014, 05:53:00 PM »
Hello all,

So, it's been a while since I've posted. Hope everyone is well.

Over the next few months I will be relocating to Aberdeenshire. My partner has already moved up and I'm hoping to get a transfer with work. Ultimately I am hoping that this will allow a much better work/life balance. However the problem would be that I don't really know anyone in the area, I was wondering what groups where in the area and who played what etc.

Oh I will be in Glasgow on occasions with work; so I will still be about.

Cheers
Andy H

Welcome to the 'Shire! ;)

Two main groups, both meet on Tuesdays

Aberdeen Wargames Club (www.aberdeenwargamesclub.com)
&
Oldmeldrum Wargames Group (www.oldmeldrumwargamesgroup.com)

Can't speak for Aberdeen nowadays as I've haven't been a regular for over a year but the OWG are a small and friendly bunch and play a wide range of games on tues and the first sun of each month. Most scales and periods.

There are a few scattered Wargamers south of Aberdeen too - with Forfar and Kirrie coming up it's a good time to meet some new faces if you've never been to either.

Pm me if you want to know anything else, but the the scene in Scotland being a fairly well knit bunch you'll know more than you might think.

Seconded :)
